Japan Goes Age-Friendly in Pursuit of Older Mobile Phone Customers

futurelab default header
Really interesting blog posting from Kim Walker, via his contacts in Japan, about ways to improve the sale of smartphone products to older people.
SoftBank (Japan) Mobile store is training and hiring a “senior crew” to sympathetically explain the know-how to their peers. That’s a very age-friendly sales approach because as one crew-member put it; “It’s hard to ask young people questions and they already assume you know a lot.” The oldest member of the sales team is 77 years of age.
Kim then goes on to look at the latest release of phones aimed at the older user. Lots of interesting things going on in the mobile space. Dick Stroud
