Another in the series of “things that are normal now that weren’t 10 years ago”. Nearly a year ago I was heavily involved (to the extent of writing the final prose report) in a research project between Isobar and Yahoo called “Fluid Lives”. (Click image to enlarge)
We took families from around the world who already had PCs & broadband, and upgraded them to multiple laptops and wifi (as well as latest mobile phones etc). Then we watched what happened, and this was one of the things that within the space of a few weeks became utterly normal. (You can download a PDF of the report via www.fluid-lives.com if you’d like. The most interesting bit for me was the impact of WiFi in section 2.1, pp 59-79).
