If 2 Minds Are Better than One Then How about 2 Thousand?

This was the title of an article I stumbled across, a review of a book about AI and the way minds work. www.emcp.com/intro_pc/reading12.htm. I can’t vouch for the book yet, although I’ve just ordered it… (I have SO many books piled up now, it’s getting ridiculous!)… But something about this phrase just really grabbed me.

It could be a nice slide for talking about the whole “wisdom of crowds” concept that was all a buzz a year or so back. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wisdom_of_Crowds

In a digital media context you could use it to talk around the whole collaborative aspect of web 2.0.

Or about the concept of crowd-sourcing. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowdsourcing

It also reminded me to go check out a link I was sent recently by Tom Himpe. I’ve never met Tom but it turns out he’d stumbled across this interesting snippets set and got inspired to do one of his own! It’s got some great quotes, including lots that are slanted to ‘advertising’, and if you like my set you’ll probably like his too. Here’s the link: www.flickr.com/photos/87743554@N00/sets/72157600410033775/

To me this is the ultimate compliment – I love it when stuff I make gets used; but I love it even more when it inspires people to add their own thoughts to the mix, be it via comments or blog links and especially this – doing their own slides. If anyone else out there has quote-type slides to share, please let me know as I’d love to see them. 🙂
