Of course, Nokia are biased in promoting this, but the results ring true. These are figures from a recent survey carried out for them by ICM research. It’s based on interviews with 500 people aged 18-35 in March 2006 in each of Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Spain, Saudi Arabia, UK and USA. I’d be fascinated to see how the data breaks down by country, but haven’t managed to get hold of that yet, so these are the average figures across all markets. Overall, this is a nice intro to talking about the vital and close personal role that mobiles are playing in daily life; a nice counterpoint perhaps to the more thought provoking chart about mobiles being like cigarettes (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lynetter/156714035/in/set-72057594139269787/).
