If you ever want more evidence that organisations should be planning for an older world have a look at this chart. It is taken from a report (The Graying of the Great Powers: Demography and Geopolitics in the 21st Century - the CSIS Global Aging Initiative). This shows the countries in the world where the median (yes median) population will be 50-plus by the year 2050. As you can see this includes large parts of middle and emerging Europe. Needless to say that the population of each of these countries will be (is) in decline.
I know a lot can happen between here and 2050, hopefully children becoming popular is one thing, but in demographic terms 40ish years is not a long time. Makes you think.
