The bits of aging we don't talk about

According to a recent survey by the National Association of Female Executives, the problems caused by the menopause are a big issue for many of its members.

The most annoying of those symptoms are hot flashes (84 percent), followed by night sweats (77 percent) and insomnia (72 percent). Nearly 90 percent of the women the NAFE interviewed said that menopause-related insomnia left them feeling tired at work, and 62 percent said they were cranky.

When talking about the physiological factors of aging we readily discuss eyesight, deafness dexterity but shy away from the more sensitive issues.

Things seem to be changing. These are two businesses focusing on the menopause both with the name of red hot mammas. The only thing that separates them is a .com and an .org.

Then there is the Menopause the Musical – I cannot wait until it gets to London.

Over half of the 50-plus are women and just about every woman suffers this horrible period in their life. That should interest marketers.
