Pew Internet & American Life Project have just published (2 Nov) a really interesting research paper called "Teen Content Creators and Consumers" with some great stats for those of us involved in grappling with the trends of user generated content amongst other things.
An article in the current edition of the McKinsey Quarterly looks at Open Innovation, the way that some companies conduct their innovation externally, rather than it being a proprietary and internal process.
When people think of user-generated content they often think of the media or publishing. Videos on YouTube, spoofing TV shows or films, and content responding to and expanding upon journalistic or editorial articles abound. But UGC is certainly not limited to these areas. In fact it can work best on any topic where some individuals will have developed a specific interest in or knowledge of the area.
