DowntownWomensClub.com, a women’s network and career website, surveyed 500+ businesswomen across three generations about their shopping habits, both online and off.

The results are not that startling. Generation Y women don’t want to be seen dead in a department store unlike their mums and grandparents – that sort of stuff.

All the generations share the same barriers to shopping online for clothing/accessories and cosmetics. Obvious things like the need to try things on; worries about returns and not wanting to pay shipping costs. If you are in the women’s retailing business then it is worth a quick read.
