#ChangeMarketing: Call to Action

Once upon a time, omniscient professors wrote marketing manuals which all of us followed.  Not any more.  Too many variables are changing for anyone to know it all.

But where individuals fail, as a group we can succeed.  #ChangeMarketing works on the principle that if everyone contributes their knowledge and ideas in an open source spirit, we can create a new marketing framework.   We can challenge the habits, business models and orthodoxies that keep marketers from doing what is right.

So join the movement to reinvent marketing as we know it.

Click here to join #ChangeMarketing on Linkedin.

But you can do more.  You can tweet, blog, Slideshare or Issuu your points of views and improvements. Amplify the #ChangeMarketing messages you agree with.  Challenge those which you feel need improvement.  Share cases of what you have done. Help others change marketing in their business.

Rules of Engagement

No open source movement can succeed without a few ground rules.  Here are the ones for #ChangeMarketing:

  • use the #ChangeMarketing hashtag for all contributions
  • share your work under creative commons 3.0 license
  • offer full attribution to work from others you build on
  • demonstrate respect, civility and professionalism
  • add to the conversation, rather than repeating it
  • focus on quality, rather than ego-enhancement

Contributions that meet the above criteri will be included in future #ChangeMarketing publications.  Obviously also with full accreditation of the source and its thinking.
