Giving the Gift of Goo

by Alex Eprejessy on 15 October, 2009 - 21:41

World of Goo, more precisely. The critically acclaimed fan favorite by indie developer 2d boy is celebrating its one year anniversary. And, in what strikes me as a really cool maneuver, the creators are running a "pay what you want" scheme this week. The game is usually priced at $20 and it will be quite interesting to see how the experiment turns out, assuming they eventually release the numbers.

If you already own the game, you can choose to buy it for a friend, under the same 'choose your price' deal. Fun stuff, especially since, according to some data from last year, only about 2 in 10 people actually bought the game, giving a piracy rate of ~82-90%  - Link1Link2 (google cache).

Goo-whee?
